Yes indeed, the sun is shining and it's a blissful 87 degrees outside. The children and I are going to the lake in just a little bit and I'll sit in the shade and read while the children splash around in the water. Fortunately the lake is only a few yards from my house so the walk is short.
Then tomorrow its back to school for the munchkins and back to writing for me. I haven't written anything in a few days so it's time to get back to work. I'm working on a book that takes place in the town where I grew up. There are joys and challenges that go along with this work because I keep picturing the small town of my youth and in reality, that 'small' town no longer exists. But on the joyful side, many of the places I hung out in are still around so my characters will get to enjoy some of those same places as well.
Have any of you written anything that takes place in the town where you grew up? What have been some of the biggest joys and challenges you faced in doing so?

Hope you have a great day. It sounds fun. Good luck with your writing! It sounds like a cool idea. God bless.
My first book, back in the day, was written in my hometown. When I wrote about the certain parts of town, what it was like at a certain time of year, I got to fall in love with where I lived. It will never be Paris but it's still not a bad place to fall in love.
